Every runners may benefit from a muscular training well focused. All movements executed when we run are associated to muscular chains. Some of those muscular chains are more requested than others and every runners may take advantage of those specific chains.

  • Muscles which you can get more benefit are located at the spine, all around of it and also in the abdominals muscles zone. Those muscles will allow you to keep a good a good running posture.
  • Then, every stabilizer muscles in the hips and the knees may avoid many physical injuries.
  • It is also important to expect a balance issue that will need to be equilibrate. Example, for many reasons, my muscles on my right leg might be stronger than my muscles from my left leg and may cause bigger steps from the right side. This unbalance issue might be harmful for my knees, my hips and my back.

The goal of muscular trainings for runners is not to increase the size muscles but it will rather be useful to get your muscles stronger and will prevent injuries or help you to recover from it. Also, it is a good add on for every runners who want to have a good physical health.

Do not try to train yourself as a BodyBuilder, this training might harm your running skills. If you want to have the physical training on your side, you rather try more repetitions in your sets (12 to 20 reps). Finally, the secret is to be constant, which mean that you need to include your muscular training right after your running. You’ll see the difference!
